Hey guys,
I bought a 2010 boat from Florida and the DMV paperwork is not fully processed so they gave me temporary registration on both the trailer and the boat.
Does anyone know if you can get inspected with temp reg on an out of state boat? On the CA website is says all out or state vessels will be denied, but technically it's been in CA since 11/22/15 and I have temp reg/tags.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: California Inspections with temporary reg & Florida plates?
Hey Mike,
I bought my boat from Alabama, and hadn't had it in the state for more than a few days and brought it up to Clear Lake where I needed the inspection completed. Clear Lake outdoors did the inspection and there were no issues.
People come from out of state all the time, and as long as you are clean/dry etc, there shouldn't be any issues.
Hope this helps.

The trailer is a vehicle and needs to have current license and tags, you get 6 months to register it in California.
The boat isn't a vehicle and can be licensed out of state as long as it is current.

Really depends where you plan on going fishing.
