Damn what a shame. Wonder why now? What has changed from last week to make this decision? Makes no sense.

Lake Hemet Campground

UPDATE - March 26th
Restrictions related to the Covid 19 virus pandemic require Lake Hemet to be closed to the public at the present time. Please check back with us for updates on the anticipated status of the facility.
Entry to the park is now limited to residents only. Camping, day use and fishing are all temporarily closed.
Lake Hemet stands with the community, the state of California and our agency partners at the Lake Hemet Water District in heeding the advice of public health officials by doing what we can to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The safety of our guests and team members is always our first priority.
We look forward with great anticipation to welcoming you back when it is safe and responsible to do so.

Lake Perris State Recreation AreaLike Page

Lake Perris is closed until further notice due to the Covid-19 shelter in place directive from the Governor's Office.

Effective Immediately.

In an effort to protect public health and the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff as the state responds to the continued threat of COVID-19 Lake Perris will be closed until further notice to all vehicle traffic per the Governor's latest directive. The entrance gates will be locked at Lake Perris Dr, Moreno Beach Dr. and Bernasconi Dr. Community residents near the park still may walk or bicycle in. Many other State Parks are impacted by this order. Please visit https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=30355 to see the list of park closures.

We thank you for your patience, trust and continued support. We’d also like to thank our volunteers and staff for their commitment and dedication as public servants through these challenging circumstances. For the most up-to-date information, please follow our park webpage or follow our feed on Facebook page.

New world!!

Post by Larry Hemphill »

Remember - this is now the "modern world!" The new modern word - certainly in this state - is "lawsuit!"

Many regulations are very strict now in public areas. Much more than in the past. Why? Farmers and other pond or small lake owners would sometimes let folks in on their property to fish one of their ponds or small lakes. Those days are mostly history now! People didn't leave the area the way they found it. People were more respectful in previous decades and may still be so in different parts of the country. Being a former school teacher, I know some of the reasons, but that is another subject.
