My brother in law wants to go duck hunting and he applied for 5 dates on GL and Sac refuges for the handicapped/mobility impaired blind. Anybody ever hunt in either of the blinds? I am wondering if they are in a decent area or not....
thanks for your responses,
Phil Thunen

I have hunted the handicap blind A few years back and the farthest two out are the best. Nice set ups. Cant remember the blind numbers though. They Back right up to the closed zone. With some good weather you can pull A good limit.

I shot out of handicap blind #3 at Greylodge last Wednesday Dec. 27th with wind and we shot 3 limits. We got in the blind around 9:30 after the first guys left with only A few birds. When we got to the blind the wind picked up and so did the birds. 1 Ross 3 greenheads and the rest wigeon and gadwall. The wind was blowing very hard or it was just our shooting but we went through over 6 boxes of shell. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck, Terry

Terry,
coincidentally, I was out at GL on the 27th also. We missed getting #3,4, and 5 by one guy. We went to #2 and it looked good, but the only thing that came by was a spoonbill that my nephew got. A squadren of bufflehead came by and we got two of those(oh, boy!). The wind came up later as you mentioned, but I had youngens to tend to and my break time was up!
Thanks for sharing.
today, 1/17, the N wind is blowing hard here in yuba city, so I bet they are hammering them in those blinds.
