I would go with carbon arrows. Lots of makes out there. Carbon Express, Beaman and really about all the major companies make them. Costs are down to nearly what a dozen aluminum arrows would cost. Broadheads are the same. Pretty much comes down to personal preference. I use Slick Tricks now. Have used Muzzy and Satelites too. I would recommend 100 grain heads. Spott Hogg makes some good sights. Don't use a release so I can't help ya there. Best thing to do is find your local archery shop and go talk to them.

Where are you located Elliott?
The most important part of any bow -- is getting sized correctly to fit your draw length.
Many Pro Shops will determin and fit you for free correctly. Then you can start shopping the used market more accurately for your needs. Still would have it checked out by a pro shop for the bus cables, string, riser, limbs, cam, serving ... ect.
Release, Sights, Correct length and spline of arrows......
If you have a size 10 foot- there is no way you are gona fit it in a size 8 shoe -- and you will slip out of a 12 just as easily.
There is MUCH to Achery to be learned to rush in blindly cause oyu just may have to rebuy the correct equipment. There are many great sites and info as well to freely ask questions.
PM me if you want the forum site names of at least three that are here local in CA that have A TON of great information and open sharing to all your questions. and I can give you 4 others as well that are national -- They will answer all of your questions openly, honestly and correctly.
Cheers

I am in the south bay. There is a shop called Predator Archery about 15 minutes away. I planned on getting fitted there and getting some opinions from them. Then I would try to find the stuff that fits me correctly. I wasn't planning on just buying every thing off impulse.
Thank you for the insight.
