So my nephew, who reminds me of myself at his age, gets drawn for a junior hunt donated by pricey duck club in district 10, north of marysville. He and his dad arrive and are given a blind to hunt. He shoots a box of shells in the first hour and comes up empty. His dad tells him to say a prayer. He gets a pair of mallards to come in and he gets the hen and she is banded...........OMG. Seems I was about his age when I got my first band.

He went back in the pm and shot another box, this time managing 2 birds.

A day he won't soon forget,

Its great to hear of kids who have something memorable happen to them that will make them a lifetime hunter. I am still looking for my first band and I know I wont forget.
