Well I got out on Sunday with some good friends who made the trip down from Reno and Sonora. We were a bit worried about the wind that was howling on Saturday but mother nature decided to have mercy on us. We blasted out of B&W just after the bass club. We decided to stop and fish the big flat just south of the bridge. We were rewarded with a nice 6lber on a punker and a few other blow ups. Perfect start to the day right? Hmmm...we ran over to the north east corner of Franks and fished all the tulle points and edges around the flats. 1 small taker on the Punker and that was it. We made the run over to Connection and fished the oxbow just west of the bridge - usually a good cafe area for hungry stripers...nada. Ok heard there's been some fish in the lakes so we ran into Mildred. Saw lots of boats running around but not one striper interested in what we were throwing. Ok lets run into Wiskey - hmmm my buddies are starting to think I've been telling fish stories about all the stripers I've been catching. By this time its almost 11am and 70 degrees. OK I'm taking us to a guaranteed spot..Railroad bridges for some spooning. Jackpot - well almost...we must have caught 30+ 6-10in schoolies. Not 1 keeper in the bunch but they're having some fun. I was done with that so we ran into the SJ river to try some spots off the main channel....nada again. I don't ever recall fishing for stripers in Nov in 75+ degree weather...I guess the stripers aren't keen to it either:(
It was fun hanging out with my old military brothas at the least. Hopefully the weather coming in this weekend brings back the bite. That's all I have to share today. Keep the info coming....
