Mercury pro xs 250

What oil should I use some say the opti or premium plus only what is it help me out

Originally the xs motors came from the race division & recommended premium plus oil. I just finished an opti class where we were told the recommendation for the Pro xs is the opti oil. Mercury also recommends the use of Quikcare fuel treatment in every tank.
