What are some good frog rod options out there? I’m normally a Shimano rod guy, I’ve been using an older model clarius jig rod. It’s well past it’s “prime”

Thanks
Nate

I use my Dobyns Champion 744C full handle rod for frogs, the Dobyns Champion 734C, 735C & 736C are also good frog rods depending on what action you prefer.

I have an older Lamiglass certified pro series 7'3" frog rod you may be interested in I'd let go for $80 I would think its better than your old Clarius jig rod you have been using. It's just been sitting in my rod rack haven't used it in years.

Thanks for the offers guys, I’m not to familiar with Powell rods, all I’ve ever heard was they don’t have a good back bone to them.

I strongly disagree. Depends on the model. Go check em out. I love the 735 and 795 for frogs.

Heavy cover I use the gloomis twfr935
For lighter cover I use the loomis twfr 845.
The 935 is my favorite!

I have a Powell Max3D 736 frog rod for sale. Powell rods are not short on back bone. I've boat flipped numerous 7+ lb fish with no issue at all.

I use an old black 7'2" mh cumara. It's the best frog rid I've ever used. And I fish the delta a lot with a DD on a frog on that rod. The weight lets you throw, work and get less fatigued. Never lost a fish because it's under powered. Probably the same blank as a zodias

St Croix 7'4" Heavy fast action rod. Legend tournament bass model. You will never buy another brand rod if you own one.. Not kidding either, they are that good.

Dobyns 736 (Champion) for heavy cover and 735 open water. Some may say the 736 is too much but I love it in the nasty stuff (only frog rod I'll bring to the Delta.)
