My friend responded to this post below and made a mistake and sent this guy some money for a NRX 894C. He payed the guy and the guy will not respond back to him. He did not even give the guy his address. I looked at his posts and he is responding to people who put WTB in a post. My friend said that Seth52803 stated that he did not take paypal and gave him another app to use instead. Here is his user name and posts below he needs to be banned ASAP before he robs anyone else. He even has his phone number listed 920-681-0627

Yep he’s a scumbag. He tried to get me to send him money in a variety of ways for a Fury 4 25P prop. It’s stunk up to high heaven with scam. I never responded but he kept trying to send a stock pic of a Fury 4 box. My post get removed for speaking frankly but this clown operates freely taking forum folks money……

Yep I had this dude hit me up as well and your right they are all over you for speaking frankly but don’t do anything to clear the site of scammers . I guess it’s ok to steal but not ok to hurt someone’s feeling with the truth lol.

If you google the phone number, the first thing is a post on another board where he has been scamming people since 2007. Do your research. He's trash but there are so many scams now, you have to look into everyone before sending money. ESPECIALLY if you post a WTB ad. They target those.

Absolute scum, but at this point if you get scammed by a d-bag on boards like this, you aren't paying attention.

Do your research, use a method of payment that provides insurance, or walk. If a seller is doesn't understand why something like that is important, then they aren't worth dealing with.

Warning Signs:
Limited history on the forum they contacted you on
Reaching out to your WTB adds without pics/personal images
Bad grammar/poor English
Pushes you to a method of payment that isn't insured

Worst case scenario, create a "legit check" thread somewhere and see what others think. Best case they have dealt with the person before and you're good. Worst case they help sniff out a scammer and they get booted....

Hopefully Western Bass will do something about this guy as he is a serial scammer. It probably won't take to long before he tries to pray on his next victim. My buddy was taken for $315.00 so I had to say something for him. SETH52803 kept at my friend till he used the wrong payment method which allowed my friend to be taken. I am glad to see that you and dvkawboy did not fall for SETH52803 tricks thanks for posting. My friend is a newbie to this and made a rookie mistake. I hope by posting this that others will not have to go through what my buddy went through. Please be aware of how you make a payment to someone. Make sure that you can get your money back if you get taken. If the deal sounds to good and you have a feeling it may be a scam it probably is.

Thanks for all of the responses guys people need to be made aware of people like this. Sad to say he is not the first and he wont be the last. I would also be very cautious who I am trading with and hopefully meet up with them in person.

Another scammer got a BDr for $500 using fake Makaira 80 photos from THT 2017. Do a search on all images anyone sends you!!!

There's many things I look at before buying from a poster on any site. First, how many posts has he had ? Under 25, no thank-you !! Also, will he take PayPal ? I only use GOODS AND SERVICES, never FAMILY AND FRIENDS !! It's the ONLY way I'll do any buying from any individual person !! I"m not sure about Venmo, I've used it with family and friends, but not sure of the "Protection" if the product is not received.

From what I know Venmo doesn't offer any sort of insurance. Use it only on deals you do in person, or from people you have familiarity with.

Absolutely no accountability and no moderation whatsoever. I refuse to buy anything on here unless it’s in person. And if or when you get scammed there is absolutely no repercussions they just let it slide….
Western bass will never compare to Bass Boat Central !! They absolutely don’t mess around with scammers and will delete them immediately.

The BBC runs a first class show and I shot a PM to Gary to keep his eyes open for this guy. Hopefully WB will step up their game and make this site a safer place to hang out. Until then we need to keep up posts like this so that people will know what to look out for when responding to classified posts on the internet. The owner is nothing but a damn liberal loser. If anything is posted he doesn't agree with either you're on vacation or gone. I don't know why people put up with his crap but fisherman don't seem to be the brightest bunch.
Alvin Shields (BBC owner) can't get money back that has already been scammed from people. All he can do is email them to see what's up or ban them. The only reason Al is so involved with his site is because he is looking to nuke any posts he doesn't agree with.
Here we have to police ourselves because the owner Wayne has a real job to tend to. If something seems sketchy then make a post.
There is a sticky at the top here to "CYA". If people are still falling for scams that are 20 years old then that's on them.
With that said he should be banned but couldn't he come back on here under a different user name?

This guy recently tried to get me. He claimed he had a new prop but would only take zelle, cashapp, or friends and family PayPal for payment. Seemed very sketchy, glad I didn’t fall for it. He had the same phone number as noted above. Buyers and sellers beware of these scams.
