Jacob Bueno, a life-long bass angler from Los Banos, CA, is bringing the Slay Nation Tournament Fishing (SNTF) Trail to California in 2020. Jacob is excited to be the California Tournament Director for this rapidly growing organization that currently has tournament trails in 16 states and Canada. Per Jacob, “We are a small tournament trail that’s for everybody. It’s an affordable alternative where friends and family can get together to fish and a great opportunity to meet new people.”

The SNTF format allows either teams or individuals to compete in kayaks, canoes or jon boats. Only human power or trolling motors are allowed, no gas motors. Anglers can team up to fish out of the canoe or jon boat like a traditional team tournament. In the event that 2 kayak anglers wish to team up, they must stay within 20 yards of each other throughout the tournament to keep things fair. Anglers will submit their combined or individual longest 5 fish utilizing the Catch-Picture-Release (CPR) method that will then be judged and validated by tournament officials. Winners will be decided by the total length in inches for the 5 fish limit. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams or individuals.

Currently, there are 6 events planned throughout central and northern CA:
3/1/20 – Los Banos Creek Reservoir
4/11/20 – Eastman Lake
6/20/20 – Clear Lake
8/9/20 – Del Valle Lake (Open Event)
9/5/20 – Woodward Lake
10/10/20 – Los Banos Creek Reservoir (AOY Championship)

Signups are currently in progress through the Slay Nation website at: https://www.slaynationtournamentfishing.com/
Events are limited to a total of 25 teams or 50 total anglers.
