So Cal Kayak Anglers 2020 Season

So Cal Kayak Anglers (SCKA) have announced their 2020 schedule. They are gearing up for a full season on some of the best bass waters that Southern California has to offer. The SCKA anglers welcome all kayak anglers and are eager the grow the sport.
On February 1st they are hosting a membership drive and a no entry fee tournament on Lower Otay Lake. This is a great opportunity to meet the crew and give tournament fishing a try with no pressure. The winner receives a free 2020 membership.
The annual membership fee is $40 and helps to offset the cost of insurance, trophies and the end of year party. They also have a $5 per event membership fee option for anglers who want to try it out or are unable to commit to the full schedule. The entry fee is only $20 per tournament with an optional $5 big fish pot. For only $25 per event you have the opportunity to meet others who share your passion and compete against some of the best kayak anglers So Cal has to offer.
Each event is the standard 5 fish limit (must be at least 12”) measured on a Hawg Trough or Ketch board. To keep things simple, they follow the Kayak Bass Fishing (KBF) rules.
Their season consists of 8 regular season events followed by a 2-day Tournament of Champions event. Angler of the Year points (AOY) are accumulated at each event and the best 6 finishes for each angler are calculated to determine the season’s AOY. The season’s top anglers will qualify for the KBF National Championship. Following the AOY event, they will be hosting a So Cal Open to finish out the 2020 season.
