Yak-A-Bass (YAB) hosted their final regular season event and West Coast Championship Qualifier event on Lake McClure on Saturday July 24th. 77 anglers hit the water to capture the title and one of the WCC qualifier spots (top 25% of the field).

Tas Moua of Fresno, CA. dominated the field with an impressive 90.25 inch five fish limit that included two fish over 20 inches. Tas was happy to go into detail on how secured the victory with an impressive 5 plus inch lead over second place finisher Damian Thao also of Fresno, CA. “In practice I found 3 areas that had some schools of fish that I was able to catch. I found some bridge pilings where the fish were stacked up. I started there to catch a quick limit. The underspin and jerkbait were not working like they had in practice. I switched out to the Neko Rig with the Daiwa 4” Neko Fat. I would hit the piling and the let it fall and slide the down the piling into 30 or 40 feet and they would just pick it up. I caught a small limit there and then made a move to my second spot near some docks. The second stop turned out to be a bust so I moved on to my final spot. It was a secondary point near the entrance to Temperance Creek. I sat off the point and would rotate back and forth. I caught a 20 incher on a Dry Creek green pumpkin tube on a 1/8 ball head so it would slowly spiral down. My big fish came off the same spot on a TM Custom Lures ½ oz. PBJ finesse jig with a Yamamoto 5” twin tail grub in Cinnamon Purple. The fish just picked it up and the fight was on", said Moua.

Here’s your top ten:
1. Tas Moua – 90.25 inches
