The Idaho Panhandle Bass Club kicked off their season in neighboring Washington on Moses Lake. This is a traditional first stop for them and as usual the fishing was excellent early in the year. Just over a week before this event, the lake was covered with ice and last weekend it took bags in the high teens to win each day.
Moses Lake is full of big fish and it can easily be a largemouth or smallmouth that takes big bass honors. The smallmouth were the bigger factor, but you can see some largemouth made it to the scales.

The club held two separate events this weekend and the first day was won with 18.71lbs. The winning team was Josh Ragan and Cody Canaday with several other mid to high teen bags.

The second day took 19.23 pounds to win and 19.16 pounds was second place. The team of Andrew Lawson and Derick McClure won it with all smallmouth.
