I have never fished in a tournament on a boat. I fish from a kayak. I'm interested in being a co-angler. Here is my question, how do I go about to make that happen? what steps must I complete?
I have no idea where to start so any information would be great. Any advise is greatly appreciated.
thank you

Try and join a local club as a nonboater just to get the feel of fishing from the back of the boat.
Help launch the boat. Offer gas money. I start at $50 but depends how much running around the boater does. Watch where you cast. Keep your eyes and ears open to soak up as much information and knowledge as possible. Keep your tackle organized and help wipe the boat down at the end of the day. From my experience, most boaters are pretty laid back and respect goes a long way.

Join a local club. Lots of clubs out there that don’t require a boat to join. You will learn something from everyone you fish with. Also
Sign up for a shared weight Pro Am as an Am
