60 boats yet only 11 spots paid????... Opinions?

How many spots does everyone think should have been paid back?

UPDATE: I found the information finally on the details where it does state "paid" boats is how the payback is determined. I appreciate the dialog. This was the first time that I noticed the comp'd boat number causing the payback number to be impacted, but I totally get it and appreciate the transparency. Thanks for the responses and thank you to NewJen I also agree they put on a great events.

It is pretty normal for an organization to comp an entry for a person to help with the event. Not sure what the situation was last weekend but it happens all the time. Just like the anglers of the year. Their basic entry is paid for the next year. Therefore “paid entries” is always different than boat numbers. I see on the results you got 12th. Missed a check by 7 ounces. Figured that might be why you are questioning this. But yes it is normal for a comp

RMANZO I completely understand that its normal for comps and the unique thing is that this is really the only scenario where it negatively impacts the anglers because the expectation is a 1 in 5 boat payback and it pushes the boat number in a tournament up to what would be another slot paid. An organizational decision to comp an angler is their financial decision, but it shouldn't be on the backs of the anglers when this unique scenario occurs. Thanks for the response these are good discussions.

It clearly states that the 1-5 payback is biased on “paid entries” they had 59 “paid entries” so they went with 11 places. You can clearly see the breakdown of money paid at the bottom of the page. While someone had to be first out of the money, it suck’s that it was you. Been there many times.

NewJen has been the most fair and transparent tournament organization that I have seen and we are lucky to have them.
