With the ca delta warming up, what what are your go to dropshot and senko line set ups on a spinning rod?

Dobyns 703 if I go with a spinning rod.

20 or 30lb braid to whichever floro diameter you prefer. I usually use 12lb sniper.

I use a 703 Dobyns and it works great with 10/12lb floro/mono for drop shot or 15lb braid straight for senko Have pulled 5-7lb fish out of grass with that setup. Just can't horse them if they run in the grass, just keep pressure on em and they will come out eventually.

Berkley Lightning Rod Shock Spinning Model #SHS701M
8lb Pline cxx
Pflueger Patriarch Reel Model#PARSP35X
Inchi wacki hook and Zero worms.

I'm switching from 10lb to 8 lb test this year. If I start breaking line I'll switch back. I caught a lot of fish in the weeds and dint break any line, but I know 2 hogs got away when the were wrapped up in the weeds and shook the hook before I could dig down to them.

Dobyns Champ 704SF
15# braid to 12# flouro

I've been using this exclusively for 5" neko rigs. It's my go to finesse set up and it tends to get better quality than drop shot. I also use it for bed fishing. I like the higher power cuz I'm usually fishing near hydrilla.

Case in point:

Fishing senko requires precise casting and spinning gear isn't helpin here. I use Dobyns Campion casting rod 704 + Lew's Pro G, braid to fluro and have no problem casting 5" or bigger senkos within few inches of target. Furhemore, light gear on Delta isn't ideal to say the least.

initially, though so too, but i seem so get more bites with lighter line and the 'falling' worm. I suppose I could switch to braid and a mono or flouro leader, but I haven't had much reason to do so, although it does take a lot longer to land a fish caught up in the hydrilla or other weds.

Go with a bait caster. You'll be glad you did. Feelings get hurt when you can't catch up to the fish. 12# test

Ca Delta and Clear Lake are two places where I would suggest you use bait casting gear for Senko and dropshot. At those lakes, I spend more time pitching at targets and way more control with a bait cast set-up. My "finesse" dropshot (12b line) for these two are a Daiwa Zillion (ZIL701MXB) 7'0" rod with a Daiwa SV105 (7.2 speed) reel. If you really want spinning, Zillion (ZIL721MFS) 7'2" rod with a faster reel like a Fuego (6.0:1). I think the faster reels are important, when its time to catch up to one of those bass that run right at you. As far as a Senko set up, go big!!

I use a spinning rod for skipping jigs and senkos under docks. 1 Med. and 1 MH. also for the little dropshoting I do.

All other is done with bait casters.

Senkos are throw on a Phenix 7' ML UMBX with 20lb. floro.

+1 on baitcasters for senkos here and delta. Never thrown one on a spin rod.
