What would be a good reel ratio for a flip/punch rod set-up? Any suggestions on make/model would be helpful, as well.

I use a high speed reel for those techniques. Something 7.1 or faster. I’m a lews fan so I use their custom pro speed spool. I also use the Mach crush it’s a little cheaper and it’s nice as well. If you can deal with the super bright orange lol

7:1 - or Greater Most of my reels are 7.3:1 I have one 8:1 burner for my frogs. The Revo STX is a sweet reel and if you want a Rocket that 10:1 is a fast mamajama (but i've never used it) Fishermans Warehouse online has both in stock
https://www.fishermanswarehouse.com/pro ... a-revo-stx if you are looking for a more value price point that Revo SX is a great compromise.

my advice is 7:1 or less. Flipping and punching
with faster gear ratios results in a loss of power. Faster is not always better! Dan

I was wondering when someone was going to point this out. It’s like a 4WD in the mud.
