It was voted for this year. We had a chance to vote the tax increases down and didn't. So who is ripping us off when the majority voted for the gasoline tax increases? Vote instead of complain.monte300 wrote:There's no good reason for gas to be so expensive in California. They are simply ripping us off because they can......
I voted against it giving me the right to complain. It amazes me the stupidity of voters to continue believing the lies about how these gas taxes are going to be spent on road improvements. In addition, that one single vote doesn't explain why gas in California is $4.00 and it's roughly $2.40 in the rest of the nation.WRB wrote:It was voted for this year. Politicians can always live up to their promises regarding how that money will be spent improving roads. If you read the fine print only 2 cents of the 12 cent increase must be used on roads. Both my wife and I have government jobs and must stay for now. I'm three years from retirement and she's 9 years away.jiggin4bass wrote:Fishing here in central ca. is good no complaints as for gas prices it's ca. You can always move.
Yes, vote yes for no and no for yes. Just dirty politics.WRB wrote:It was voted for this year. We had a chance to vote the tax increases down and didn't. With propositions always look where the money is coming from. The state passed the new gas fee without calling it a tax and without voter approval. The fee started 15 Jan 2018. A petition was started by grass roots and passed to get the vote on the ballet to repeal the tax/fee.biteme wrote:Yes, vote yes for no and no for yes. In fact, it is on the periphery that it happens. There are pumps that increase their price because they think it's their right.monte300 wrote:There's no good reason for gas to be so expensive in California Self Stockage. They are simply ripping us off because they can......
It wasn’t Newsom (though I wouldn’t put something like that past him). It was Jerry Brown. You can thank Brown for shoving the SB1 gas tax bill down people's throats (to put it cleanly). Voters never voted for SB1. Sacramento politicians passed it on their own in 2017 with some caving in/selling out to muscling/buttering up done by Brown and his cronies to get it passed. And you can thank both Becerra and Brown for all the deception that went into defeating the recall effort last year. Can’t believe the dimwits of California fell for it... and also for re-electing Becerra!. He’s one of the most corrupt guys in Sacto. This latest gas tax increase was a part of SB1, and it was known at that time that this would happen. It was in the nitty-gritty of the bill. From what I understand, there will be more to come yearly.Morgan wrote:You can blame Gov Newsom on the tax, he made the attorney General Xavier Becerra change the wording to intentionally mislead the voters. That was all documented. Newsom is as crooked as he father was. Time to impeach him!
