You will need to order from Ranger a replacement bushing kit that matches your boat and your seat post base.
Kit includes replacement bushing/sleeve, glue and a wooden dowel to hammer the insert in.
Chisling out your current sleeve is a minor challenge.

Mike,
What is the purpose of the glue?

The replacement sleeve is intended to be glued into the insert hole in your deck.
Apply some glue and they provide a wooden dowel to hammer the sleeve into the deck.

Thanks Mike.
I've replaced my bow pedestal sleeve twice since 2008, and didn't use glue either time. The replacements lasted as long as the original sleeve, which I assume was glued in at the factory.
That's why I was asking.

You will need a sharp edged chisel, about 1/2" wide and make 4 or 5 vertical cuts at your old bushing. (tapping with hammer). The old bushing will splinter off into pieces which you remove a piece at a time. Try to not let any pieces fall into the drain hole ...... they will just wind up in your bilge. I don't think it is a "difficult" job, just take your time and do it carefully.

As I noted in the original response, get your hull serial number and call Ranger for the replacement "kit".
There are several styles of pedestal bases: "spring lock", "straight pin" and "tapered".
Also, the ID (inside diameter) of your deck insert can vary depending upon the age of your boat.
I would use the minimum amount of glue. The more glue you use, the more difficult it will be removing the bushing 5 years from now when you are repeating the process again.
