You should consider mounting the LSS on the back of your boat (jackplate mount preferred if you have one, otherwise on the transom in such a place where you get unobstructed sidescan views), and use it with your HDS-7. It provides DownScan also. Replace you HDI transducer with a standard 2D transducer. This will give you more options.
