Strike King Lure Co. in Collierville is closing and will eliminate 18 jobs by the end of the year.

The company filed a notice with the Tennessee Department of Workforce Development about the permanent layoffs, which will occur between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31, according to the filing.

Strike King Lure, 466 Washington St. in Collierville, sells specialty sports fishing brand products and services.

Strike King is a business unit of Lew's Holdings Corp., an outdoor consumer products company based in Lexington, South Carolina, with a portfolio of brands including Lew’s Fishing, Strike King Lures and Hunters Specialties.

Strike King is not closing they are moving their distribution center to Springfield, MO where Lew's is located as well. This is the only layoffs as some of the people may not relocate to Springfield.

Makes total sense KB, centralized DC to better serve the customers.

Makes sense if you are in the acquisition business to reduce costs by eliminating duplication in the work force, sucks if you worked hard to build the business and get laid off....for the Holidays.
