NRX Advice - does this look right?

I just got my NRX 822 DSR that I bought at the TW Black Friday sale, and I’m not sure what to think. The lower three guides and the tip have ceramic inserts, but the middle guides are just a coil of wire. Is that expected? Based on reputation I expected a rod with an awesome blank but without much refinement, but this seems... weird? Extreme? This is my first NRX, but I have an 843 GLX to compare it to, and that rod has all-ceramic guides at least. As did the NRX jig rods I’ve picked up in the store.

Those are re-coil guides. No insert to pop out. Titanium -very light

Very sensitive also, but very noisy!

Ah! "Increased sensitivity" is an explanation I can get behind :)

Weight - always good to be light, but I paired it with a Revo MGX 2000S (6.2oz) and the rod still feels tip-heavy (but not excessively so).

Some rods have counterbalance weights in handle to balance out rod. In order to b super light some eliminate weight. U can add a weight to balance out U can slip on rubber butt cap and add quarters/dimes till u get desired tip. Works great when chunking 2oz weights thru heavy mat.

Good point on the counterweight! I got to fish the rod for a few minutes yesterday and the balance already works out pretty well (after all! :) ) because the rod tip is usually down for me on a 6'10" rod. Caught a couple of LMB dropshotting, and even though they were dinks it was super fun. The actual bottom contact doesn't actually feel all that different to me (I used an Expride ML and Inferno L before and could identify the structure well), but the bites... man, those bites feel so much clearer on the NRX :) No question about when to set the hook, it's awesome!
