Bear in mind all the public ramps are barricaded ..... which may not be taken down immediately saturday morning.

There were a bunch of boats, both pleasure and fishing, on the water today!

It was great to be back on the water today. Lots of pleasure boaters, jet skiers etc. They seemed to outnumber the fisherman :D

Funny but I don't remember Skeet Reese being a resident here and yet he was on the lake in his tournament boat??

Lake County Health Dept has not issued updated guidelines since May 08 when the Lake was opened to "Locals"
It is possible that area businesses (hotels / tackle shops) are aware in advance that the County is about to loosen the restrictions ..... but that has not occurred yet. I believe the current SIP requirements, which are still in place expire on May 17 ..... May 18th would be the day I would look for some positive news

I called the clear lake health dept. today. I was told the lake is not open to the public yet as they continue to follow the governors orders... As I'm sure your all aware, this changes daily..
Still searching for a place to fish.... :(

Effective May 15:
"All Lake County waterways are now open without restrictions"

Looks like restaurants can open. Hotels, bars and gaming remain closed.

Does anybody know if/how the updated order affects Clear Lake guide services? Sounds like they're still not allowed to open while everybody is allowed back on the water...

After 2 and a half months I will be able to open my tackle shop back up to the public tomorrow morning. I was cleared by the county of lake and city of Clearlake to start business tomorrow. All of the protocols have been signed off and am legal to go. It’s been frustrating to say the least, as the lake has been opened and not being able to open my shop. The new county ordinance as of today requires all customers and patrons And employees to were a face mask or covering before entering any business in lake county. The social distancing of 6 feet is in effect as well. I have installed a plexiglass sneeze guard all around my entire kiosk to ensure that you, myself and my employees are protected. We will sanitize our counter and pens after every customer. I’m so grateful to have my employees still there for me and helping me get my store ready to open. You guys rock!!!! It’s gonna be a new way of conducting business, so if you visit please be patient. It’s all new to us too and we will try our best to serve you in the best way we can. Thank you for all the phone calls and positive thoughts during this trying time. I am excited to say that my wife has made it through 6 months of chemotherapy and is finishing her last day of 20 straight days of radiation tomorrow! She is one tough cookie! As excited as she is to get back to the shop, she will have to stay home for a while because her immune system is still compromised. So your gonna have to deal with me. I’m excited to get back to the shop and seeing a lot of faces. Heck, the fishing is so good I might even hook the boat up and go. Oh wait, I better make sure my batteries are still good. See ya soon! Jimmy
