boiling a hollow belly top water frog

I have some older hollow belly frogs that have become harder over the years.

I've heard that I can boil them to make the rubber softer.

How long should I boil them, and do I need to remove the hooks first?

Shouldn't take too long. Just dip them in for 5-6 seconds and manipulate them until you feel they are soft. Hot water shouldn't affect the hooks/ body where they protrude from. Should be just like boiling swimbait tails.
