I have a 99 225 Evinrude with a 4 blade renegade prop that uses the plastic exhaust ring.

Today my prop spun and when I checked it the black plastic piece was melted. I know this piece directs the exhaust thru the prop.

Does anyone know why it would melt. As soon as I hit the throttle the prop would not hook up and just spun.

I changed to my three blade that does not use the plastic piece and everything was fine.

Any help would be appreciated. Can't get ahold of anyone until monday and have day two tourny tomorrow.

There has been an issue with these rings melting occasionally.
