You now have to get the Quagga sticker separately from DMV...I believe they are $16 for 2 years. You can get them on line.

Just another money grab what a bunch of crap . to me I don’t understand why we have to pay for that quagga sticker and also pay to have the boat inspected at some lakes. I would like to know what they spend that $16 dollars on ? Sorry I’m just tired of it we’ve been paying extra taxes on fuel and heavy use tax and they still dont fix the roads .

Having an R governor in office when both the senate and house of representatives being D wouldn't have done schlitt for California.

You want to save the state? Vote R for both offices above!

Good luck!

Do you need them if you're fishing the Delta?
I found the answer on the DMV website: "State law requires boats and vessels registered in California to display the sticker if they are operated in fresh waters. This includes inland waterways, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, wetlands, and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Owners of vessels used exclusively in marine waters are exempt from purchasing or displaying the sticker, as are exempt government vessels. Failure to properly display the sticker may result in denial of access or citation."
So it looks like it is required if you fish the Delta.
Thanks for the heads up.

Would love to see an audit of how Fish and Wildlife funds are spent along with all the DMV fees and taxes. I suspect a lot of the $$$$ collected (including fuel taxes) are funneled into social programs.
