People check your swing tongues on your trailer, make sure the bolt side is snug, and the pin side is not worn out or it could end up cracking like mine did.

Thanks. I had no idea that was a possibility. I'll check mine right now.

This is just a guess but is that a step mounted on the swing? I'm wondering if it was designed and tested for that? Looking at the crack position on the bottom it might be from the weight on the step. I'm not a engineer so again just a guess.

My guess is all those taxes being collected for our wonderful California roads are being spent on the lefts social programs. You can thank for cracked trailers, bent axels, and broken springs.

Shooter is certainly right about our roads
Looks like one of those things that happen from time to time
Good looking out and glad you noticed it before an incident.
We will all starting paying more attention to our rigs

Are you kidding? I mean a crack in a steel frame is possible on anything
Frames on cars and trucks crack too. You never heard of that?
Cracks in trailers are not uncommon .
Look for them at welds as well

Here is another view. Trailer is a 2017 Karavan that came with my Crestliner their have been no modifications done to the trailer. The swing tongue was just not tight.

If your trailer has rhino liner coating or similar, you need to check all welds as if water gets in between, it will rust and crack and not easily visible. I had it happen to the welds that supports the axle mount. It also happened to base of the piece which holds the winch/crank.
