Delta Stewardship Council Science For Communities Workshop.png
This symposium will be led by panelists who are roughly 30 and under. This event will cover various Environmental Justice related topics, such as climate change mitigation as opportunity, Harmful Algal Blooms, EJ communities, public access, cultural and historical resources, and water quality and how they fit in Delta planning. It is vital that we build a base on current issues at home and make sure that the next generation is involved in planning.

The event itself will help give voices to the next generation of Delta leaders, including their own concerns for their future and their concerns for the Delta. The plan is to collect data and empower our region by encouraging discussion and inquiry on the above topics.

Panelists include current and future leaders from Restore the Delta, Edge Collaborative, Little Manila Rising, San Francisco Baykeeper, Black Urban Farmers Association, Edible Schoolyard, Save California Salmon, Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, MBK Engineers, Public Health Advocates, University of North Carolina, San Joaquin County Historical Museum, and more.

The symposium will be a two-day long virtual event and will take place on October 13th and 14th from 4pm to 8pm. Folks that are older are welcome to attend as observers, but participation is reserved for the next generation of Delta leaders. You can sign up at this link. We hope to see you there!

Didn't I read somewhere it was illegal to discriminate because of age ?
When you exclude people that have more years of experience with the subject under discussion than the participants making decisions what could possibly go wrong?
