I have a 112 fortrex 36 volt system. My issue is when I run the trolling motor above 90 for a extended time of 5 min or more my breaker kicks out. I have noticed below 80 it stays on. Are my batteries or battery overheating? One bad battery? I just bought a new one and other 2 are under 2 years old. Anyone ever have this issue? I intend to upgrade next year with lithium however right now that's not a option. Eric.

Have you always had 36 volt system or did you up grade. I think for TM takes a 60 amp circuit breaker and I would check the wiring size

That was the first thing I thought of as well. Most guys just upgrade the battery compartment and not the wiring going to the unit back to the batteries. Upgrading wire size AND proper breaker. Essentially you are overamping and tripping the breaker.

what these guys said is 95% probally it, most older breakers are 30a, some are 50 amp, you could probally get away with the 50 so I speculate yours to be an older 30a that wasn't upgrayed with the new trolling motor. be care on 10 thing will toss you out the boat and chop props off lol, torquey critter the 112 is anyways... new 36 v ultrex requires 60a same for ghost also you need 8 gauge jumper wires to connenct the batterys together in series and your boat needs to have at least the 8gauge all the way up to the plug or connection.
