I usally take the family to Sly Park a couple of times each summer to go camping. We have our reservations for one trip, but was thinking on trying somewhere else. Do you guys have any sugestions? We like to stay in tents lakeside with the boat in the water for some tubing/fishing. Sly Park is pretty cool, the fishing just ain't too good. On the plus side they do not let PWC in there!

Dude,
first off congrats on the WON win. Great job! I would take your family to Lake Sonoma. They have a lot of boat in campsites and the fishing is great also. Give it a try, you'll like it. Take care,
Joe

Comanche is kinda neat, but I don't think they have "boat-in" campsites. You park your boat at the marina. Also Oroville has boat-in sites, I know New Hogan does too, but again - the fishing. I think it's Pardee (or Amador?) just above New Hogan that has campsites on the water and no PWC's. I hear thay have a speed limit and you gotta go in a CCW direction around the lake. Have you looked into Don Pedro or New Melones?

Don Pedro has lakeside spots if you reserve ahead.

Amador. You can stay right on the lake and the night time fishing can be great!

Lake Amador...There are campsites right on the water...You can catch catfish all night long from shore...The bass fishing day or night is real nice...And, lots of bluegill for the little guys.

Oroville has these floating boat-in sites that seem pretty cool. I haven't used them but have seen people on them with tents, bbq's and they look to have a small little indoor section. Like someone else said, lake Sanoma has great boat-in tent sites aswell.

There's no jetski or water skiing on Amador...I don't know about swimming...

Mike, you can also try Collins lake which is about an hour and a half north of Sac, just outside of Marysville. They have lakeside sites that are reservable as well as first come first serve lakeside sites. The fishing actually isn't too bad there and you can ski, wakeboard, or whatever during the summer months.
