A trio of sea lions was captured on video feasting on fish on the American River Parkway in Sacramento.

A Reddit user who shot the video told KCRA 3 he saw the animals midday Sunday between the River Park neighborhood and the Business 80 overpass.

Any seal or sea lion that enters fresh water should be eliminated.

They are just doing what comes natural, it’s an easy meal

Same thing said about humans they should be eliminated from seal and sea lions habit also

300,000 sea lions up and down the Ca. coast line a few are going to come inland in fresh water and feed on fish. There very well protected
I think back in or around 2010 a fisherman shot a 650 lbs sea lions with a shot gun In the head or face area and spent 30 days in jail telling cops the beast was stealing his fish. And he also payed $51,000.00 for rehab bill.
I bet the fines for harming seals or sea lions
now days are much more harsh than they were back 15 or 20 years ago. I'm not a fan of either one but to harm them just because there eat a few fish. It's not right.

This same thing happens on the Columbia and Willamete Rivers in Oregon. They are eating federal protected salmon and steelhead that are on the endangered species list. US fish and wildlife have a program where they are eliminated after individual ones are trapped tagged relocated and then returning to same area.

I remember years ago u would rarely see a sea lion on the delta. The only thing that needs to be shot is the stupid *** politicians that have built the dams and diverted the water that has enabled the salt intrusion further into the freshwater delta. The salmon and Shad use to come into the tuolumne river by the thousands each year. Now it is a rare occasion. “NO FLOW, NO FISH” pretty simple

I’ve been fishing the Delta for at least 35 years. I’ve noticed I rarely see a beaver anymore. Anyone else notice this?

They all got shot for building all the dams

I see fewer beavers as well. They are still around in some areas

The great white shark eats the seals. Man hunted the shark until it became protected. It might be there is not enough sharks yet

They eat 6% of there body weight per day.

And there are hundreds if not thousands now
Do the math -they are destroying the fishery and should not b here. They need to open up a season for them -or start a relocation process. They are actively breeding in the delta and have no predators.
