As you may or may not know, there is a legislation bill that is currently pending in Sacramento. It is SB 1437, the Homosexual Curriculum Education bill. If this bill passes, it would require that all school districts must teach about homosexual/lesbian, transgender, etc. lifestyles in grades K through 12 and that this information must be included in textbooks.

In no uncertain terms, I strongly oppose this ridiculous bill and ask that you please join me in expressing your opposition to this bill to Governor Schwarzenegger. It is extremely simple to do and will take less than one minute of your time. Here’s how:

Call the Governor's office at: 916-445-2841,

The voice recording will ask if you want to continue in English: Press 1 for Yes.

Are you calling to express your opinion regarding a legislation bill?: Press 2 for Yes.

Are you calling to express your opinion regarding legislation bill SB 1437?: Press 1 for Yes.

Are you in favor of this legislation bill?: Press 2 for No.

That's it – You’re finished.

Your call can help to protect our children and our future.

Thanks in advance.

Our public schools are getting too far from what they are supposed to teach, which is how to be a self- sufficient contributing member of our society. They are not supposed to teach about sex or religion. That's what parents are for.

As an educator in a public school I vehemently object to the suggestion that this kind of rubbish should be taught in schools! There is no place in public education for this. Teachers already have enough responsibility and our State Standards drive our curriculum. We do not need to change them again for a secular group with ulterior motives! I will not support any such measure and in fact will work against it to make sure it goes down in defeat!
We take a lot of criticism in the public sector for things that go wrong with children that are out of our control. If the politics and dogma of special interests groups continues to dictate policies toward educating youth one can only imagine the deleterious effect it will have on recapturing the lead in areas that matter such as Math, Science, Language and the Arts! CA is a great state with vast potential. Our challenge is to make sure we develop our potential in areas that are appropriate! (Like Bass Fishing!) har!
Sorry for the soap box but since you brought it up I thought I'd chime in!
