Where did you hear that? I’m 64 and I know the guys that own it and they are younger than me. That’s a thriving business and if they are retiring, I’d be shocked if the business isn’t sold to someone else.

A friend bought a Basscat from them a little over a year ago. He stopped by to say Meery Christmas and was was told they were going to close. A phone call would confirm or deny the rumor. It doesn’t matter to me

Good idea I’ll give them a call. I was there about three months ago to buy some bulk two cycle oil and the owner informed me that they no longer sell it in bulk because Mercury is no longer giving them discounts on 55 gallon drums. I’ve been a customer for over thirty years and he said nothing of them closing. I’ll report back to the group.

I called and talked to the owner and he confirmed they are closing down at the end of the month. I asked for recommendations and at this time he only mentioned a gent named Tanner who works for them who lives in the Antioch/Oakley area. He also said for awhile we will be able to call them for advice on where to take our boats. I know there are plenty of other mechanics in the area, but I for one will miss doing business with them. I never like doing business with boat mechanics because that means my boat is broken and it’s about to cost me money. I’m a huge fan of Boatmasters because they always did me right and were some real straight shooters.

Rumor is that the land is more valuable than the business, so I assume they own the land
