Lake front Real Estate in California?

Which bodies of water (Private or Public) have lake front homes in California? It doesn't necessary need to have bass in the lake (but that would be a plus), it must have some kind of fishing.

Thanks,
ACP

that would be Clear Lake or as most of us call it "Heaven on earth" and a very close 2nd (in my opinion) is the California Delta-if you have the $ to buy lakefront property in California there is no need to look further than there since these are the 2 best places we have!(again just my opinion)

Also, Canyon Lake in Southern California. Private, gated community with a 400 acre lake and excellent bass fishing.

It's been years since I was out there but I seem to remember Bass Lake as having some really nice homes either on or overlooking the lake. Almanor I believe also has some lakefront homes.

Keep in mind that many of our lakes were built on government property that precludes such lakefront dwellings.

Clear Lake has them all around the lake obviously and the Delta does have Discovery Bay and Bethel Island a some other spots such as nearby Stockton. The Sacramento River has riverfront property as well. In fact I can think of more riverfront property in the state then I can lakefront.

I'm pretty sure there is much more on the water opportunities with houseboats then there are with homes in California.

Ya really want Heaven on Earth?

Get ahold of a realtor and take a look at Lake Of The Pines in Auburn. I owned a lake front piece of property there for 6 years that aquired when my grandmother passed away. The house had been in the family since LOP's inception back in 1962. I ended up selling it last year in an effort to find a piece of property on ClearLake or the Delta that was more conducive to my guiding business. I ended up here on Sandmound on the Delta.

There are several of these gated community lakes in northern California, one I also believe called Hidden Valley is off 29 on the way to ClearLake. There's another in Grass Valley called Lake Wildwood. I've been to all three and know home owners at each. I can honestly tell ya, neither ClearLake or the Delta, as awesome as these two fisheries and areas are, they aren't squat compaired to these gated communities. And the fishing, for a variety of species, is absolutely awesome year round!

I'd take Cooch's advice seriously, he's been everywhere.. There's also Tulloch in the foothills (but it's getting expensive there).

And an aggregator site that covers the entire country & state:

useful in case you're open to moving (retirement, etc..)[/url]

Tulloch's a novel thought Tommy........

great little fishery, but damn, between the skiers and the jet skiers, ya got more nasty critter's buzzin around and threatening yer life than walking the ponds with the "west nile" skeeters on Jersey Island! Only time in my life I ever got "sea sick", was July 4th weekend 1997 on this pond! HAR! HAR! HAR!

These gate communities, Jet Skies are not allowed, and they have designated "QUITE hours" through out the summer!

Got some big small mouth in it , Biggest small mouth I ever caught was in a night tournament way back when I was fishing with my club. I will never forget it I thought I hooked the Locness monster it only turned out to be alittle over 3lbs but man can them Smallies Fight! I do agree about the lake lice though leave the days for them and fish it at night.

Tight Lines Dom

Homes are going up like crazy around Nacimiento as well. Might be a good idea to get in on those before they skyrocket.
