I just want to give a huge thanks to Rick and Cindy Grover for their 30+ years of putting on the Anglers Marine Bassathon.
I was only able to attend it for 12 years or so, but I got to meet so many interesting people.
Forrest Wood, Rick Clunn, Larry Nixon, Jimmy Houston, Bill Dance, Gary Yamamoto, Gerald Swindle, Skeet Reese, Butch Brown, Clifford Pirch, Aaron Martens, Brent Ehrler, Jerry Rago, Jay Yelas, and, of course, Kevin Van Dam. And the list goes on.
They always had the latest Classic champion there, and tons of other fishing stars doing really interesting seminars.
I'll never forget Fish Fishburne taking out a whole bank of overhead lights during his bit.
I know it was put on to promote their business, but I can't imagine they made as much money from it as it cost them, both in actual money and time.
It always seemed to me that it was a labor of love.
I will always treasure those memories.
Thanks Cindy and Rick.

Miss the Bass Athon and looked forward to going every year to meet up with old friends and check out new tackle. Good friends and good times.

Yep… spoke about it with Jordan when I was down there for some service, shortly before he rode off into retirement, and had some good conversation about some very fond memories.

He didn’t rule out Anglers resurrecting it at some point, so I am hopeful one day that may become reality.

We've asked several times for a reboot. It is a lot of work and understandable if it doesn't come back. But definitely something that we are glad we were fortunate enough to attend. Especially when it was held amidst the buzz of the annual release of Kramer's Cali Top 40

So my favorite James Bond007 actor was Sean Connery. One of his last Bond films he did was "Never Say Never". The Anglers Marine Customer Appreciation Team events just took over for the Bass A Thon marketing funds and our trail is very popular. 2025 will be our 45th years in business so we will see. Just never say never. Thank you to all the Western Anglers that have supported us over the years.
