Bass photo weights (of the fish)!

I wish more anglers who post nice photos of their bass catches would include the weight of their bass along with the location. I guess I am just too curious - I LOVE photos of large bass but hate to have to guess the weight. If there is no scale in the boat, obviously no exact weight. Bass can be weighted and released very quickly - even in the summer. Brian Allen's recent catch was 10.15 lbs - wow - I didn't have to guess the weight. Obviously she was a big fish but I would spend a lot of time guessing - 7?, 9?, 10?, 13??! Thanks Brian - I won't lose sleep tonight guessing the weight of that beautiful bass!!

Larry, don't you mean matt allen? i know were he caught the fish, i was there that day. i caught a 7.3 myself.( not fishing with him). i think people just don't want to give out info so that people don't go there or whatever. you see it all the time. peoples pictures all marked up so you can't see were they are. i won't say were he was cause i guess he wants to keep it to himself. i also would like to see location and size on all pictures.

Its true, I tend to not show where I catch a lot of my bigger fish to people I don't know. There are several reasons for this... 1st, I'm greedy and want to keep my fish to myself! 2nd and most important is that I don't know who all reads this, there are so many lurkers out there its incredible and more importantly I can't track which of those lurkers releases their fish and which ones kill them. Think it doesn't matter? I'll tell you this, I learned how to catch big bass by listening to and studying the locations and methods of some of the big bass guys. All I had to do was tweak the techniques to meet my needs. By now if I were a fish killer I'd have decimated the trophy fish in more than one lake so you can't convince me that leaving my backgrounds in place will never do damage. Its a matter of preserving fish for those who will come along later.
I don't mean to offend anyone and hopefully now that you know why I do smear backgrounds it won't bother you quite as much.

Sorry - I was not very clear - my fault!

I didn't mean the location (area) the fish was caught. I mentioned location (body of water) because that is usually mentioned with the photo - delta, Clear Lake, Oroville, etc. I should have added another sentence to clarify - but it was late! I am just interested in the weight of the fish. I think everyone likes to know the body of water the bass was caught and most folks post that with their photo. If they don't - fine.

Larry,
No problem at all, I knew exactly what you meant, I was just giving a general explanation as I get that question all of the time. I too would like to see the weights of fish listed, I always find myself wondering if those fish went 8 lbs or 10!

Hey Matt,
How have you been?
Have you been fishing with Steve any?
Sure miss him, since he doesn't come on anymore.
Keep the big fish coming...I like to look at those Toads.

Sieg,
I've been doing well, how about yourself? I'll be up in your neck of the woods for the rest of the week and I'm sure I'll see you this weekend. I haven't fished with Steve for a while but he's back around now so it shouldn't be long and I'm sure he will start frequenting the boards. Its getting to be that time too, hopefully a few more of those big fish start showing themselves!
