No use thrown swimbaits at far west. Last few times i've fished we have had great luck early on with wind and a crankbait of points. jigs and Dheads work good on windless days. Good luck, wish I was out there too.

Be careful, lots of shallow rocks when the lake is low. I know more than one person who has donated a lower unit to that lake recently.

Since CFW is not a trout stocked empoundment, swimbaits have never produced although topwater is always a good choice. This time of year your best bet is a tube or jig up the Bear River arm and with all the rain we have had recently, the lake is already on a rapid rise and you may be able to get back into Rock Creek. Good luck and hope you have some good rain gear.

:D There is no reason the spots in CFW won't eat swimbaits, even if they're rainbow trout colored. Try using a smaller swimbait such as the smaller Castaics or the smaller Mission Baits or the Double D swimbaits. Bass don't normally strike at a swimbait because of it's color. It's more of the realistic action of the swimbait and displacement of water that the bass attack, not normally the color. In this case you might want to just match the hatch in size and retrieve. And by the way there are some trout in CFW, they come down the Bear River, besides the bass will eat anything they can fit in their mouth. A slow methodic retrieve is best especially if the water is stained, this way the bass can home in better on the swimbait to eat it. Just my 2 cents.
