Engine Certificate for sale?

Anyone have an engine certificate for sale? I've got a damaged Mercury 125HP and looking for a replacement in the 115HP - 130HP range.
Also does anyone have any experience with purchasing a rebuilt engine locally? Any shops they can recommend?
Thanks.

Boat Masters II in Dublin hooked me up with a 150 XR4 for $2,500 installed. Good service and they don't jack you around. The motor is running like a champ, sucks gas to no end but runs good.
Most boat shops rebuild this time of year so you shouldn't have any problems finding something.
Talk to Mike at BMII.

One idea for you is out if state. Try somewhere with no sales tax

Vince,
I will be curious to see what you find out as I just bought an older boat that has a Johnson 120hp V4 that needs a rebuild. I am up in Sacramento, so I have heard that C&C Marine is the best shop around here. I don't know if rebuilding this motor or buying another used motor is a better decision. But I am leaning towards rebuilding the old motor because at least then you know what your getting.

Rob,
Yeah I'm hearing mixed reviews from just about everywhere. There seems to be a lot of rebuilt engines on eBay but can't seem to find anyone who's bought a rebuilt engine from any of these dealers before.
Right now I'm in that limbo area between going new, buying someone's certificate and waiting, rebuilding or just going with a new/used boat. Plus add in the fact that I need a practice boat for Havasu or at least practice with with someone else in the back of their boat. Hopefully Boatmasters can get the boat running before I leave for Havasu otherwise I'll be practicing from shore.
