If you go to the California Department of Water Resource page for New Melones (http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/queryDaily?NML)you can graph previous Octobers to see what the water level was like.

here is a graph from last year

http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/quer ... val=29days

Heres it is from 2005

http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/quer ... val=30days

And 2004

http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/quer ... val=30days

As you can see the water level is all over the place in October. This year I have a feeling it will be lower than it has been in 5 or 6 years considering how little rain/snow we got this year.

Melones has remained at a similar level year round and we have avoided the old school "major" draw downs. I do not know what this year's rain and snow shortage will do to the lake level. With Melones being the 5th biggest lake in California, I hope it will be high! Best of luck.

Melones has been dropping fast this spring.I expect at least another 50 or 60 feet by October.

Should be a great time to find all the submerged structure that will be out of the water by October. May be able to find some of the old town.

Where abouts is the old submerged town located?

Rumor I have always heard is that is somewhere near the middle of the lake.
