I'm using the Lami Big Bait Special and just got an Okuma 711XH. For the $ the Okuma is the way to go... I'm loving mine. Most would probably say the 711H is about right but I like the horse power of the XH.

Okuma Rods are great for the price and their customer service is awesome. For the Shell Cracker I would go with the 7'11H.

I use a 7' heavy rod for this bait with 65#braid. It may not seem long enough but I can get it under dock and trees etc.. Although you should never htrow them there. Once you get over the fear of banging a expensive bait off the rocks. Let the games begin!!

St. Croix legend tournament swimbait rod. 1-6 oz. i think. Pair that up with a Daiwa luna, 65# braid and you are good to go.
