I'm curious about everyone's time on the water. Time on the water has everything to do with fishin' to me and definetly helps in weedin' through everyone's B.S. on the forums from those that do and those that don't. Thanks ahead of time for ya'lls input.

I try my very best, and usually can, fish at least three times a week, during the week mostly, as it is less crowded. I do like to go out on Sunday however, also. Bill K :)

I am lucky to live in heaven here on the Central coast, within 20 min. from 4 quality bass lakes. I am also lucky to work a 4 day work week. I average 1 day a week on the water. I don't own a boat yet, instead I get out in my kickboat (or bum an open backseat)....the kickboat can be even better, No gas $, easy maintenance, and most important, I can disect a portion of a lake and take my time enjoying and increasing my knowledge with my time on the water....

I only started recently, but I"m also lucky enough to live by some great reservoirs and lakes.

I have made it out 2-3 times a week during weekdays (after work) and once a weekend since I started. it's convenient when you are 15 minutes from Oroville Lake, 20 minutes from Paradise lake, and 10 minutes from your favorite reservoir.

Now that it's getting dark earlier I might even start going in the morning.

mostly weekends for me right now. But that's just cause I'm so new to it and don't have a boat. When i have a boat i'll be out at least 2 times during the week and the weekends...hopefully that'll be soon!

I was fishing daily, from the bank, launching after work, and fishing in the boat on weekends.

Now, not as often.

Damn, sounds like something else in my life that does not occur with the same frequency it used to.

Lately, I have been taking the kids fishing for bluegills on the boat.

And that's pretty fun too. The best thing about it, is when you are on fish, it doesn't matter if you ever made a TOC, AOY, or a first place in some money event. When you all are really catching them, the kids think you are the greatest angler that ever was.

And in that moment, you really are.

I usually get out 1-2 times a week. Every monday for sure, usually by myself. I most always have an open backseat if anyones interested. If they could go half on gas that would be cracka lackin. I either go to clear lake or delta occasionally berryessa, oroville, pardee. pm me if interested.

My boat was laid up for the past almost 2 years (blown motor), so I was only getting out once a month as a backseater in club tourneys. (A couple of months during that time I managed to get to one of our local lakes for some bank fishing but not with any regularity.) But now my boat is back and running, so I hope to get out at least every other weekend to fun fish, plus fishing our club events.

I’m guess I’m lucky guy because I live close to the Delta and have understanding wife. Last year I managed to fish 70 days out of the year. As of last weekend I have 53 days on the water. Yes I keep track of the days I fished as I keep track of everything else about fishing. Tied, time, weather, color, type of lure, and location.

Time on the water is the only thing that is going to make me a better fisherman! So to answer your question I’m out each weekend plus any other day I can get in!

O by the way, I will be out there tomorrow.

When I lived at my parents house up in the hills above Auburn, I used to fish everyday after work. There were 10+ awesome ponds to fish. But then I moved out down to roseville and every since I became a flatlander (not dissing anyone), I have become somewhat unmotivated and lazy and thus only fish on the weekends. It used to be so easy to just put the gear in the car and hit the ponds after work... there was very little effort I had to put in. Now there is folsom 20 15 minutes away, but that means getting the boat ready, launching, etc. I guess I've just become to lazy.

I'm sorry I guess I should have answered my own poll. Since I have a Rivers End pass and its just down the street I fish a few days after work and every weekend. As the days grow shorter so does my fishin' but for the next few weeks the evenings are gonna be hard leave. Maybe I need a life.

Since I have been working nights I have been getting out 2 or 3 times during the week, then I typically hit a tournament on the weekend.

Normally I fish the delta 2-3 times aweek and when ( if ) the salmon are running, i'll be out there at least 3-4 times for salmon and sat for the delta. Salmon runs Oct-first part of Nov. and it goes thru Sac so only 10 min from the ramp. If the run is anything ( a bust ) like last year, i'll go to the delta.
I guess i'm lucky when i'm sitting at home, she'll tell me that I should had gone fishin. Would do it everyday except for the expense. Boat gas 6-10 gal min, truck 4 gal. Sometime launch fee $7.00. Have a pass at another resort but depend where I plan to fish all day.

Don't have a job as i'm RETIRE and somebody has to be out there to stir up the water on weekdays.

I need to fish at least once a week or i'll just snap!

Now that most boat ramps are high and dry, i've been relegated to fishing the local pond circuit, but when there was water in our lakes a few months ago, I was out at least 3 times a week.

I think on average most of us die hard bassers are getting out at the very least, one weekend day and maybe a second day during the week. We all need enough time on the water to stay on top of our game (or at least to think we are!!)

All the best,
BassManDan
