just wanted to know what your thought were on scent i only use it when LMB fishing and normally when the fishing gets tough but when there biting like crazy i dont think it make a difference.

I think it does help. I think a fish will hold on to a bait longer if it smells and tastes like actual food to them. It also masks human odors that fish may not like.

I put Crawdaddy Smelly Jelly on everything I use. -- A little jar of it goes along ways and it don't hurt anything.

Is it a must for for night fishing. Never tried it at night and did pretty. But is it better with it.

i just hate to have it on the boat, seems my non boater like to rub it into the capret after he drops it.

I second the carpet issue. I use the Bang scents, dont spray up wind!

Just mix it in with your copenhagen and spit on your lure and everywhere. Actually I always use scent but I have golf towel cliped on so I dont get it everywhere. I use that mega strike stuff. It is a thick gel that stays put. Keep it on ice next if it is really hot, it will turn liquid and spoodge everywhere and make a nasty mess. I use that bang stuff to but if the wind is blowing and you get a face full of it. You will taste it for a week.

I always use scent. It puts a slim film on the bait so it feels a bit more real, plus it gives me more confidence. Maybe false confidence, but confidence non-the-less.

In regards to the co-angler, hand them a ziplock bag and tell them to use that instead of getting the stuff all over the boat. They can put the scent in the bag and then work it onto their baits. I had one angler spill a bottle of gravy on the back deck on trip and don't ever want that to happen again.

I also found Simple Green will take Smelly Jelly out of the carpets.

I use Berkley Gulp on everything in crawfish. I especially spray my frogs...they slide over the slop better and the fish never seem to let go.

I like the old Berkley scent as well in the squeeze bottle. A lot more chunky and seem to hold on to the bait longer.

I've used a variety of BANG for as long as I can remember. A bass' sense of smell and taste are very keen, and a tool they use daily in their quest to survive. Certainly, there are times when it is not needed and the bass are just gorging themselves on any thig that moves, or when they are fending nests.

I can assure ya, if'n you've ever seen a bass run up to yer bait and stop inches away, he at some point is pushing the sent request button. If he detects something offensive to him or unatural, he'll turn and meander away. Scent assures they will smell someting natural to their environment.

Many times we have seen bass come run up and grab out baits, the spat em out faster then we can even begin ta think about setting the hook. More than likely, his aggression got the best of him, but it's also likely, he hit the taste button and one of his taste buds connected to his brain said, Uh uh, no way, don't eat this. Scents can give us that extra second or two or three, where that bass believes he's got something reel in his gullet. That scent gives us the time to react to his strike.

Other times, I strongly believe the scent trail left in the water, gives that fish a smelly taste of something he decides he needs to eat. In this case, especially with BANG that leaves a tremendous amount of an oily trail behind, scent can actually work as an attractant to draw strikes.

Scents are tools. Used properly, we can take great advantage of their purpose when either the bass tell us it's working, or our confidence level soars because we're using it. Using scents for me, is a win, win situation. I've really never encounter a situation, where I felt the bass were not striking because I was using scents. Yet I have encountered many times, where I couldn't git bit or hookem with out it!

Oh yeah, by the way, the new Saltwater Shrimp BANG, ROCKS!!!!!!! It's something new and I've learned these River bass, love a Cajun Etouffe Wadda!

For swimbaits I have done just as well or better without sent. I am not convinced that it helps BUT I don't think it hurts to use it ether.
I still believe when they want it they want it, with or without sent.

If you use braid, rubbing some Megastrike on it as well as the bait gives the bass a preview of coming attractions as you work your lure. I even rub it on my flouro for a couple of feet for jigs.
