I'm one of those guys who, if I really like something, I do not change it. I am a die-hard Shimano Chronarch SF guy and, as you probably know, they do not make these reels anymore. I have fourteen of them (yes, I love them that much) and they are now pushing four years old. I simply cannot afford to replace all of them and they started making noise and were not working as they once did. The remedy was, of course, to send them out for servicing.

A very good friend of mine (Tony Mello) started a reel repair service a couple of years ago, so I gave him my reels to service. I recently got them back and they are as good as new (aside from the rod locker scrapes, etc.).

Tony is an authorized Quantum service and warranty center, but he services all brands and his turn-around time is very quick. If any of you need to have your reels serviced, I highly recommend Tony Mello (Cal-Delta Tackle Repair). Here is his info:

Tony is an wonderful person. His work shows great care and quality every time.

Tony has worked on my reels since he got started. As a matter of fact I was probably one of his guinea pigs (haha). I recently moved to Table Rock Lake in Missouri and have not been able to find anyone out here that does reel cleaning and repair as well as Tony does. I will be in Cali next week and am bringing some reels for Tony to work on. I hope he can finish them in a week. LOL.

I got a couple curados and a castaic that could use a run thru, approximately what does Tony charge for your chronarchs (or if he gives you a break, what would he charge me!)

Me too. I got about 5 reels that could use a tune up. What does he charge and about how long would it take? What about Abu. I only got one but it needs some help? Worm gear or something like that. Can he help with that aswell?
