I have a 2006 Triton TR-21 -X and I am noticing a couple of stress cracks on my transom. Anyone else having this problem? If so, what did Triton do about it? I would be interested in knowing as I will be seeing the dealer next week. Thanks for your response.

I too have a 21 X with some cracks. Triton paid to fix them but they are not oblegated to. If you get them fixed, I guarantee you that they will return, just a fact of life. Mine came back within 6 month. They are comstic in nature only so I just accepted them. Harry

Normally they are nothing to worry about. I was told by Stratos that the transom area generally has a thick gelcoat in that area at the corners and that any flex at all will crack it. Trim the engine up a bit and lift the engine up and down while a freind looks at the cracked area to see if it moves at all. If it does you have a problem.

My first bass boat was a 1987 Skeeter, I fished a tourney at Oroville and the wind picked up real bad on the way in and it beat the heck out of my boat, top and bottom of boat came appart. I made sure my next boat had no transome issues so the first thing I did before I bought my next boat was make sure the transome was solid as a rock (used boat that is, can't afford new:)) Anyway I bought a 1986 Ranger and I fly across Clear Lake in the worst white caps you can imagine and come clean out of the water and no stress cracks at all, I am not disrespecting Tritons boats I think they are an awesome boat, but what I am saying is, if you paid the kind of money I think you did for your boat I would be pissed off to say the least. If you don't demand better who will?

Got them all over my 01 Triton and was told they would fix the cracks but I would have to take it up to Red Bluff to have it done and it would take awhile due to the back log the guy had, needless to say I said forget that I'll learn how to do it myself. Steve

I have one tiny stress crack (about 1.5") in my '04 21X. Doesn't seem to be getting any bigger so I'm not concerned about it. I check my splashwell and transom all the time but so far nothing. I did have a crack in the front rod locker area that Bragg's Marine fixed under warrenty from Triton. Gel coat is a very rigid material and will crack under extreme use. Any flexing at all such as bouncing over waves can cause them. They are only cosmetic but I agree that they are unsightly and shouldn't occur with the amount we pay for these boats.
