Who fishes a Football Headed Jig on the delta ??

-- I use 80% of the time (summers included) pinched off Mini-BrushHogs in Blk/Blue Saphire -- JuneBug color if in a bind .... But I picked up some 20 bag's each of Zoom Mini-Brush and Zoom Super Hogs in Blk/Blue Saphire from THe Hook last fall  -- Those Super Hogs work nicely as well.

Got turned on to the BRIGHT Blue Single Yamo Grub 4" by maH Mentor/BrothA/PardnaH last summer to go on the Brn/Purple Wadda .... That works great as well ! But I do get the tail bit off on short strikes compared to the others.... A short strike is better than no strike as well I think ?

Tossing some Zoom Salt Chunk right now in bright blue ..... Now only if my family and I had a boat to fish from for my off days !!

I find that a football head with a cinn/blk flake hula grub is hard to beat, IMO!

Mark, thats what I was tossing at Tullock when I was in your boat!

I personally don't believe there is a singler trailer that is best year round! Each season, much like pitching and flippen regular jigs, requires the trailer that best fits the moment of the bass attidude to strike the jig.

I find with spots and small mouth, year round, they will eat a jig with the small Uncle Josh 101 or Bohog Baby pork junks. Where as athe largemouth, seem to prefer that pork in the colder months. Small plastic craws have always worked well for me in the late spring and summer on our lakes here when I'm chasing smallies and spots. Yet if I'm targeting largemouth, that 5" single tailed grub is tough to beat spring through fall. Year and a half ago I was introduced to the Paca Chunks as a trailer. I just loved the action of those two craws, and thought quite possibley I had run into a plastic trailer, that could possibley out perform and replace my Single tails. NOT! I've experienced some good bites with the Paca and Beavers, but not anywhere as good and consistant of a bite day in and day out versus using the Single tails. The Double tails are great in the fall and Early winter, especially on the lakes with smallies and spots. They will work on the largemouth too during this period, but I still find that over all, that Single tail is a better choice on a rubber skirted football jig.

I just highly recommend that ya be versatile and try a variety of trailers at various times of the year, especially when what you like ta throw most, is not what they bass want to eat! Too many less experienced jig fishermen git caught in this "confidence Jig trailer" box. Y aneed ta be versatile, experiment and become comfortable with using a variety of trailers on ALL yer jigs.

I think there are a ton of options better than the Yamamoto twin tails
Sweet Beavers, Paca Chunk, Paca Craws even the Zoom Speed Craws are really good, there all about 2 bucks cheaper than any Yamamoto product. I think Gary Yamamoto's products are good but they sure arnt worth 2 bucks more.

My .02
