Kistler Mg Flippin stick is my choice:

Yes, the numbering system is less user friendly than the Dobyns Rods system, but worth the acronym degree it takes to decipher it

Quantum PT SS "Klein" Cast Rod 8' Heavy. An 8 footer with down-wrapped(revolving) guides allows the bait to be placed with unbelieveable accuracy and quiteness. I don't own any other Quantum rods(I have mostly Performance Tackle Customs and Loomis rods), but this rod is awesom with alot of power to pull 'em outta the thick stuff. 1/4 -2 oz. Paul Elias was settin' on some giants on this at the Falcon Lake Elite series event where he smashed the record...
They have 'em in stock @ Tacklewarehouse.com

I allready have a 8 footer made by Loomis. Mossy BCFR954, its a little much to handle all day , front heavy. Not to mention Ive allready broke two on the high stick . Im thinking somthing in the 7+ range . I have three other Dobyns rods and like them a lot so I will have to check them out. Thanks guys.
Texas or bust!

Cooch, I'm disappointed in you. I have been at work on the "Coochie" special. You remember, the rod that can weigh your fish with the super duper $%&$^&%%&^* scale built into the tip. Happy late birthday brother!!!

Mr. Dobyns... still waiting to see the 'tunaman special' that can double as a flippin' stick and a tuna live bait stick!!! C'mon - show me some love!!!
By the way - JB offered up a Dobyns' rod for the first 300 bowled during our bowling event, and so far it doesn't look good that I'm going to be able to bowl and run the event at the same time...
May have to schedule a side event on the kid's pair where we can get the contenders together for a shoot-out? Sure would like to earn one of your sticks!

Ron we've known each other for a while now and I have never lied to you that you know of. The only good advise you are getting is the advise about Dobyns Rods you just can't go wrong with that rod. You have 3 already so you know the quality.
Cooch has been drinking that Delta water alot lately and DL and Morris are drunk.........again.........or is that still?

Did he throw in a dozen Crispy Cremes? You have to learn how to negotiate!
P.S. You can balance any rod by adding lead to the handle. It sounds like it would make the rod too heavy, but it doesn't (thanks Dan Warme).
Of course, that's not to say you shouldn't throw all of your old rods away and rerack with pure Dobyns rods.
Great stick, great sticks.

I use two rods. I have spent a lot of time over the last 4-5 years punching with a BPS Extreme Extra Heavy rod. Cost 69 bucks.
I currently use a Team Daiwa Tierra. I really put the Tierra to test last week at Clear Lake during the WON and Stren and it preformed great catching 20-25 fish a day for 10 days of purely punching. This rod retails for 80-100 bucks. It's lighter than the BPS.

I second the opinion on the XPS Extreme flip stick. Good rod. Hell, Ricky has kicked absolute a$$ fishing against some of us at the Fin and Feather with that rod.It was my first true flippin' stick and I still use it to this day. A bit heavy, but a whole lotta backbone where it counts. Good choice on the Dobyns 766. I'm planning on getting the 805 and retiring the XPS to something lighter with mono. That's my only complaint about the rod. It makes a great punching rod but too stiff to fish the heavier braid I like to punch with. Makes a great 20lb. mono or flouro flip setup, but I whenever I used anything over 30lb. braid on it, I'd have problems losing fish. But it will do the job fine if you can control them better on braid with a stiff rod, as Ricky has shown often. In any way, enjoy Texas. Show those boys how to really fish a jig.
