Just curious if anyone has thrown an Triple Trout on the Delta... I have yet to catch a fish on either my 8" or 7" slow-sink, but damn they look good in the water. Vaughn

They suck. Thrown them in the ocean off the piers for perch.
Big largemouth hate the 8" triple trout.

Yea if I were you I would stay away from the triple trouts all together!!

If you by chance have any of them Ill do you a favor and take those junk piles people like to call swimbaits right off your hands!! HAR HAR HAR!!! In all reality though they work just as good on the delta as anywhere else! But dont throw them

Don't go into franks with them. And don't throw them around tule points w/ current or wind.
(seriously though...watch out b/c stripers will grab them too!)

Hey JSOregon- I took the 7" and 8" TT's to Collins last week. Threw my arm off (5hrs) for zero follows. Finally switched to the Hud ROF 12 and got some attention from several fish including one monster that followed the bait to the boat- just no commit. The HUD was going deeper quicker and calling up the fish- my theory. The TT slow sink gets down there as well, but it takes longer. I prefer the swimming action of the 8" compared to the 7", but that may be due to the heavy rear owner which I'll swap with a smaller treb for the weekend. After waiting 3 months to get these damn things I'm determined to catch something....

I think swimbaiting can be just as you described it a lot of the time.
Here are some tips I've learned:
Lazy followers that follow way behind the bait usually means it's not a good swimbait bite or I'm throwing the wrong styles/color bait.
Followers that are moving around the bait quickly and darting at it can usually get caught. Backing off the cover, using lighter line, or parelleling the bank to fish a specific depth zone the fish are in can be key. (In very clear water lakes void of cover, I throw swimbaits on 8lb sunline to 12lb sunline.)
It took me like 10 trips to finally catch one swimbait fish years ago...

Now I've figured it out more but you have to start somewhere...
