Tunaman.....I just read your email about the bowling and BBQ party for this Saturday and I'm extremely impressed with the organization and dedication you've shown to make this thing happen. Not to mention the extreme hospitality, graciousness, and plain kindness you are showing to open your home to all of us. Many of whom you have never met....
I just felt compelled to tell you how I was feeling about everything. PROPS TO YOU BUD!!
Me, Carissa, Barry (NetB****)& Shani (his wife), Guy Williams and (Maybe his wife) are all looking forward to the festivities.
Do you need us to bring anything in particular to help out? Just let me know and we will be happy to help out.
Pete

Thank you for your kind words sir... it's appreciated.
Aside from the specifics in the email, I think we have everything else covered. If someone has a sweet tooth, they can bring along a dessert as we're not big on desserts ourselves. Aside from that, there will be plenty of food and munchies, as well as adult beverages. This is going to be a blast.

My favorite cigar is the Padron aniversario, it is pressed down in a rectangular shape. That is smooth stuff. I haven't tried the one you mentioned I'll look into it though. Cigars make the world a better place

You guys are all being set up. Roger and Mona are AmWay reps.
Roger, you know I kid because that's what I do.
The Nelson's really are great people, you all will have fun, and I wish I could make it. At this point, tunaman, it's not looking good. I love ya, and wish you all well with this bowling party. And it looks like God will be granting you with some great swimming pool weather.
Roger, I've got something for you. PM me, and I'll give you the details.
God Bless,
James

Damn James, just read this to Mona and she told me to tell you she's mad at you!!!
Thanks buddy... it's now Mon a Vie, in lieu of Amway, so I'm expecting most of the party folks to walk out with a bottle (CHA CHING!!!)

Just kidding folks, as we don't subscribe to the pyramid schemes (even if they're the real deal).
Gosh, I wish you could make it up, as it is going to be one for the ages! Hopefully things change around and you can work it in... otherwise, we'll be thinking of you (for even a brief moment!).

How's the stucco and tile coming?

Well, got the plywood installed and screwed down yesterday, so had to delay the stucco guy until today. He should be here any time, and is going to try to finish in one day. I may opt to wait on the tile until next week, as I don't want to rush it and screw it up (since it will be my first tile job) or not give it enough time to set up.
Wish I would have started it a week earlier, but I was actually planning to have a contractor do it until we got a couple of bids... $7300 from the first, and $12,000 from the second (for a block and stamped concrete beast). Figured for those dollars I could do it myself, get it the way I wanted it, and save 5 grand or so.

Here's where I finished up yesterday:
And the guys started on the stucco this morning:
Stucco will be finished, but I guess the top will be plywood for the party as I don't want to do a hack job.

No BBQ - it's just for seating. I've got the cutout for the fridge, and the two tool box units for drawers.

No Kegerator, although that wouldn't be a bad idea. Just the little fridge, as we drink WAYYYYYY too much Jack in this household!

Glad to know I've got folks watching my back - thanks!
Actually, the BBQ is in the far corner of the yard... don't want to smoke out the house. I've got a decent queue station there now, and had them pipe in a gas line and electric when they built the pool. Once I have this island under my belt, I'll probably end up doing something similar over there as a built-in. THEN I'll need to ensure adequate venting is incorporated into the design for sure.
