How's the security at Konocti Vista?

I'm staying there in a few days and am debating about keeping the boat in the water at the marina, or putting it back on the trailer to park it outside my room. What do you guys usually do? Either way, do you usually take your gear inside at night? Do you take your prop off?
Thanks, Jeff C.

They have 24hr security and the only way they to get to the boat is by a locked gate.

Jeff,
Launch your boat and dock it - stow all removable items – place a lock bar and if you don’t have one place the boat cover over the boat. Taking the items to your room is also very easy! They have power hookups and the place is secure. I have never had a problem there. Have a good time.

Jeff - never had a problem leaving the boat in the water for 4-5 days........alway took the rods up to the room but nothing else......removed the graphs and put them in the lockers and locked them........only problem I ever had was the addition of recyclables and bananas to my livewells........but that is another story........

Thank's I was going to ask that same question.I will be up there on the 10th.Any tip's on where to start?
Have not been there for 20 year's.
Hope I pass inspection but I have been cleaning my boat for two week's.Even pressure washed the carpet on all the running board's to knock off the weed's and any moss.
Oh well I guess California will have the cleanest boat's in the Country.

I have stayed there many times and have not had a problem. However, the is NO locked gate. Anyone can walk to the docks at anytime.

The key is to dock right next to one that is nicer then yours

That way if a theif comes down well, you'll be at least second on the list...

Isn't that like saying, "I don't have to outrun that bear, I just have to outrun you?"

I would not sleep good at night with my boat there, either in the water or on the trailer. Heck I dont sleep good there with just my truck in the parking lot.
I have had stuff stolen from boats in the parking lot durning check in and even banners stolen right off the fence by the pool.
This is part of the reason I stopped running my team events from this location.
Now with that said, I have not been there in a year so maybe it has changed.

Been going there for two-three times a year for WON Bass and FLW over the last 4-5 years and I have NEVER heard of someone getting their boat broke into.
With that said-things can anywhere at anytime.

I went out early on a Sunday of the nutcae, (4:30 AM) to put roses all over my boat for my Misty Girl co-angler. While pulling rods out of my rod locker I was greeted by two security guys.
They ended up holding flashlights for me so I could retie hooks.
Just call me Tule Bender

to clarify: the boats were not 'broken into" stuff that was taken out, IE: Rods on the deck or the passenger side rod ramp, etc.
