After sixteen enjoyable seasons as the WON BASS Southern California Region tournament director, it is time for me to move on. Effective immediately, I have resigned from my position so that I can dedicate more time to my new baby - the Heavyweight Bass Classic.

I wish to thank each and every one of you who participated in and supported the WON BASS Southern California Region over the past two decades. The friendships that I have developed along the way are priceless to me and I shall cherish them dearly for the rest of my days.

I also wish to thank Harvey Naslund and Don Lee for their confidence in me and for teaching me the ropes within this industry. Both of these fine gentlemen provided me with opportunities that I otherwise would not have had. I shall never forget all that you two have done for me.

Most of all, I wish to thank those of you (past and present) who were members of my staff. It was your dedication, loyalty, and hard work that made the WON BASS Southern California Region the most successful team tournament region in the West. I love you guys.

Please understand that my reasons for leaving are not out of resentment – not even a little. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Bill “Hutchâ€

It has been a pleasure working with Ron C as one of the finest WON BASS team directors since the inception of the program. Ron leaves WON on the best of terms and we greatly appreciate all the hard work and dedication to the sport he has put in over the past two decades. As for myself and on behalf of WON BASS, I wish Ron all the best and continued success with the HBC series.

While Ron leaves some big shoes to fill in the SoCal region, WON will announce a new SoCal regional director as soon as a capable replacement is found.

Thank you on behalf of all the anglers that have been spoiled by your selfless devotion to our passion. I have enjoyed competing in your tournaments and head to head when you were the competition in other circuits. You can hold your head high as you have left a legacy and benchmark that most only aspire to. It is hoped that you will get your HBC to become the premiere event coast to coast. That's you in a nutshell Ron....Your NATIONWIDE... ... and deserve the credit for your hard work. Thank you on so many levels for being a calm and steadying force over the years. Kind of shocking news but not all to unexpected. Nothing ventured is nothing gained and you will not regret your new command as it is your labor of love and we all cannot wait to see it grow and mature. Good Luck!!!!!

WOW Ron,
I received the news by word-of-mouth and phone calls this afternoon. All of us are in shock. My partner, and fishing brother Doug, have fished WON SoCal BASS Teams for 18 or 19 years and with you for the last 16. It has been a great ride. I think that we have gone to all the Tri-States except for the first one and you have always been there for us with support and ecouragement. I wish to express the respect and gratitude that I have had for you as our TD and my utmost appreciation, OUTSTANDING, Sir !!!! THANK YOU, Ron. All the best wishes for you, my old friend. We are gonna miss you.

You were TD for my first ever tournament (J&T Night time) and it was great. I fished against you at the region 7 events and have always considered you a class act. I got to do the first ever HBC as a VTO and had a blast. Thanks for all you have done and good luck with your next adventure....HBC is going nation wide! right on!

Good luck on the new adventure. Your have taught me so much. I always valued our friendship and still do. I really do think you are the best TD I have ever seen. Never have I been to a tournament that was as well run as yours.(and there are a ton of tournaments out here) You your self went out to get sponsors to provide product for prizes, and not just to be sponsors in name only!
